Petra Lo is an award-winning actress, recently seen in “The Hill” TV series by Golden Eagle Entertainment. The RocketJump short film “Are You Afraid?” in which she played a mother had over 0.5 Million views and over 17,000 thumb-up votes in the first week of release on YouTube. Her role as the lead in “Control”, a suspense thriller, premiered in June 2015 at Jurupa 14 Cinema, won her the Best Acting Award at the 48 Hour Film Festival. She also played the lead role in the horror anthology “ABCs of Death 2” (Segment V), which was screened in Landmark Theatres across the US and is now available on Netflix, DVD and BluRay. The feature film “Until The Day I Die” in which she played an LAPD officer was premiered on CineLatino network and is out on DVD. Her credits also include various lead and supporting roles on TV, Indie films and web series.
She is trained at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio and is also taking improv with Paul Storiale at the Avery Schreiber Playhouse in North Hollywood. She studied singing with Eric Jayk, the lead singer of Wildstreet.
Of a mixed ethnic origin, born in Europe, she lived in Russia, Vietnam and Australia before settling in Los Angeles. As a Certified Advanced SCUBA diver, she has traveled around the world. In addition to English, she also speaks fluent Vietnamese. She has a PhD in Chemical Engineering, an MBA from UCLA and is an inventor with over a dozen technology patents that have been successfully commercialized in various industries around the world. She is a mother of 2 and is a hospice volunteer, helping patients with terminal illnesses. She is also trained in SWAT for Films & TV (Special Weapons And Tactics for Films & TV).
